PI's Corner
Hello, I'm Jian Zhang
Nanoelectronic Group Leader
Full Professor at the National Center for Nanoscience and Technology (NCNST) | Recipient of CAS Hundred Talents Program & National High-Level Young Talents Program (Overseas)
I earned my Bachelor's degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Shandong University in 2013, then obtained a Ph.D. in Condensed Matter Physics from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS) in 2018. From 2018 to 2022, I pursued postdoctoral research at Empa (Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology) — where I was honored with the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellowship and promoted to Empa Scientist in 2022. In 2024, I joined the Max Planck Institute for Microstructure Physics (Germany) as Group Leader of Nanoelectronics, and in February 2025, I joined the Nanofabrication Laboratory of NCNST to establish my own Nanoelectronics Research Group.
My long-term research focuses on the micro/nanofabrication of novel nanostructured devices and the study of their quantum transport properties, covering core directions like atomic-precision quantum devices, strongly correlated systems in Moiré superlattices, and high-throughput manufacturing of nanoelectronic devices.
